Founded in 2020, startup TRONITY helps drivers to access data of their electric cars more easily. This allows for the evaluation of vehicle data, to keep an eye on costs, and maintain a digital and tax-compliant logbook without the need for additional hardware. From Peugeot to Mercedes and Porsche, the company works together with established vehicle manufacturers. At this year´s IAA, TRONITY is launching a completely new version of its app.
With its platform created in 2020, TRONITY offers a cross-manufacturer solution for EV owners who want to drive sustainably and use their vehicle efficiently. Several vehicles from different manufacturers can be managed within the framework of one account. TRONITYs solutions addresses both private users who want to optimize their mobility and the self-employed who want to keep a logbook that complies with tax regulations. It is also aimed at drivers of company cars who want to use TRONITY to document business trips and trips to the workplace. Fleet managers in companies also benefit from the possibility of gaining insights into several vehicles in parallel. In addition, the application supports the purchase of a used electric car by conveniently displaying information on the battery and general condition of the vehicle, as well as potential maintenance costs in just a few steps. With 17 million trips stored and over 1,654 MWh of battery capacity managed, the TRONITY Community already represents the world's largest virtually managed fleet of electric vehicles.
Torsten Born, CEO and Co-Founder of TRONITY, and his company's mission is to create more transparency and enthusiasm for electric mobility: “We are convinced that electric mobility can be an important contribution to sustainable and efficient transportation. At the same time, EVs represent a black box for many drivers. With TRONITY, we provide a transparent insight into the vehicle data of e-cars and thus want to arouse more passion for electromobility.”
TRONITY replaces its previous companion app with a comprehensive web offering by a completely new and independent app developed from scratch. With the new version, users now have access to all functions while on the road, such as access to the current status of the battery via Vehicle Insights, a summary of the last routes taken via the virtual Driver´s Logbook, or access to an overview of the charging costs via the Cost Management function. Setting up the app and connecting to the vehicle takes just a few steps and is completed in about two minutes without the need of additional hardware. The app does not aim to replace the vehicle manufacturers' existing applications, but works as a useful addition that provides further information on the respective vehicle.
The release of the new app is an important step for Torsten Born:
“We are delighted that our users can now use TRONITY with all its functions while being on the road. From the very beginning, our focus has been on the driver, and we are in constant exchange with our customers to further improve the user experience. With the release of the new app, we will also introduce exciting new features such as the virtual glove box for managing vehicle documents and the vehicle diagnostics report. By this, we look forward to receiving feedback from the TRONITY community to continuously improve these features.”
The new TRONITY app will be available for download by the start of IAA Mobility 2023 in the Apple App Store for iOS and in the Google Play Store for Android. TRONITY offers a free version for offline use only as well as two paid subscription models to use the full range of functions. The company will also be present as an exhibitor at this year's IAA Mobility in Munich and will be available to answer any questions about its offering at its booth in Hall B2.C104.
TRONITY was founded in 2020 by former SAP employees Torsten Born, Sebastian Netuschil and Nils Machner in Mannheim, Germany. The startup's application gives drivers of electric cars access to various vehicle data without the need for additional hardware, and supports cost management and a digital logbook. The company cooperates with numerous car manufacturers such as Ford, Mercedes, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche and VW and is completely independent. The TRONITY App is already in use in more than 45 countries. With 25 million stored trips and 1,19 GWh of managed battery capacity, the TRONITY community already represents the world's largest virtually managed fleet of electric vehicles.
