TRONITY Signs Cooperation Agreement with Ford

TRONITY is starting a collaboration with Ford Motor Company. The framework agreement between the startup, founded in 2020, and the car manufacturer now makes commercial vehicles available in the TRONITY App with the E-Transit. Other electric models such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E are also supported. With TRONITY's offer, users gain insights into vehicle data such as battery condition without additional hardware. Along with other features, such as a tax office-compliant digital logbook and control of charging costs, the TRONITY app is aimed not only at private users but also at operators of commercial vehicle fleets. Freelancers, company car drivers, and fleet managers also benefit from TRONITY's wide range of functions.
Torsten Born, CEO and Co-Founder, comments on the new cooperation with Ford:
"The partnership with Ford allows us to provide our full range of functions in the TRONITY App. With Vehicle Insights, our logbook, and the cost management function, we see ourselves as a partner for all drivers of a Ford electric vehicle – whether it's a private car, company car, or commercial vehicle."
Besides Ford, the company already collaborates with other established manufacturers such as Porsche and Mercedes. Users can thus manage various vehicle manufacturers bundled in one app.
Chris Miller, Data Services Manager at Ford Pro, on the collaboration with TRONITY:
“EV ownership and user experience for drivers and fleets is significantly enhanced through the intelligent use of vehicle data. This cooperation with TRONITY enables Ford owners to access valuable data and actionable insights through the TRONITY app or Fleet Management platform. Ford owners will be able to save time, reduce costs and have full transparency of their fleet’s operating costs.”
From the craftsman business fleet to last-mile fleets in logistics: With models like the Ford E-Transit, electric mobility is gradually making its way into the commercial vehicle sector. Torsten Born sees great potential for a sustainable mobility transition, especially in this area:
"The existing connectivity of modern electric commercial vehicles offers enormous potential due to the data generated, which we should exploit more intensively in the future. With TRONITY, we want to support operators of fleets and vehicle pools in using their vehicles more effectively and thus more sustainably."
TRONITY enables cross-manufacturer management of battery states, driving and charging statistics, and the maintenance of a digital, tax office-compliant logbook.
TRONITY offers a free version for offline use only and two subscription models for use of the full range of functions. The offer is available through the TRONITY App for iOS and Android, as well as through the web app at www.tronity.io.
TRONITY was founded in 2020 in Mannheim, Germany by former SAP employees Torsten Born, Sebastian Netuschil, and Nils Machner. The company develops digital twins for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, enabling drivers, fleet operators, and asset managers to gain full transparency across the entire vehicle lifecycle – without the need for additional hardware.
By analyzing real-time vehicle data, TRONITY provides insights into operating costs, charging behavior, and vehicle health, empowering data-driven decisions. Thanks to direct data access agreements with over 20 leading automotive manufacturers – including Mercedes, Volkswagen, Ford, BMW, and Tesla – TRONITY ensures a reliable, independent connection to vehicle data across brands.
The product portfolio includes a driver-focused mobile app, a legally compliant and independently audited digital logbook, and a web-based fleet management platform. Features such as home charging reimbursement and battery health diagnostics (patent pending) add further value in an increasingly data-driven mobility ecosystem.
